Sheep anti-rat von Willebrand Factor (SARTW-IG) is a polyclonal antibody supplied as 5 mg of whole IgG from sheep antiserum. von Willebrand Factor (vWF), previously known as Factor VIII related antigen, is a large adhesive protein produced in endothelial cells and megakaryocytes. vWF serves two critical functions: it is involved in platelet adhesion and aggregation through interaction with platelet receptor glycoprotein Ib, and it binds and stabilizes Factor VIII for transport in plasma. Principle and Application:

This product provides whole IgG antibodies specific for rat von Willebrand Factor. It is suitable for use as a source of antibodies to rat vWF in various research applications, such as ELISA and immunoelectrophoresis. The vWF protein circulates as multimers of disulphide-linked 220,000 dalton subunits, with molecular weights ranging from 0.5 to 20 million daltons. The concentration of vWF in human plasma is typically 10 μg/ml, though this can increase during pregnancy or physiological stress.
