Product Overview:

BIOPHEN™ CS-11(32) Factor Xa Chromogenic Substrate is a synthetic chromogenic substrate designed for use in research applications requiring the measurement of Factor Xa activity. Research use only reagent for professional use only.

Principle and Application:

This synthetic substrate is cleaved by Factor Xa, releasing the chromogenic group p-Nitroaniline (pNA). The rate of pNA release, measured photometrically, is directly proportional to the Factor Xa activity. The peptide sequence of the substrate is Suc-Ile-Glu (γ Pip)Gly-Arg-pNa, HCl. It is intended for all research studies and laboratory protocols where a source of chromogenic substrate for Factor Xa is required.

The product is supplied as a single vial containing 25 mg of lyophilized BIOPHEN™ CS-11(32) with Mannitol as a bulking agent. The substrate is a highly purified and stabilized synthetic peptide.

Note: Assay conditions must be established by the user to ensure the substrate is rendered completely specific for Factor Xa.

Storage and Stability:

• Unopened (Lyophilized) Vial: Store at 2-8°C, protected from light. The product is stable until the expiration date printed on the label.
• Reconstituted Substrate:
  • Stable for 3 months at 2-8°C.
  • Stable for 7 days at room temperature.
  • Important: Do not freeze the reconstituted solution.
